**Reports To**:Accountant

**Salary** **Range**: $43,000 - $48,000 per annum

**Working Hours**: 8 AM - 4:30 PM PST

**Software Knowledge**:Working knowledge of MS Office 2000 (Excel, Word, Outlook)

**Start Date**:As soon as possible

**PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**

The purpose of the Accounts Payable Administrator position is to support the efficient operation of the Finance department by completing basic day-to-day accounting functions. Under general supervision, the Accounts Payable Administrator is responsible for the timely and accurate review and data entry of invoices, payments, and vendor accounts in addition to completion of routine accounting activities and the preparation of various reports.

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**

The Accounts Payable Administrator will at various times be responsible for the following as well as other related duties as assigned to support the business objectives and purpose of the Company.
- Performing day-to-day administration functions related to student disbursement and Accounts Payable
- Printing and mailing out cheques to vendors or campuses and filing supporting documents
- Completing entry of data into accounting system on a daily basis
- Maintaining a control log on cheques issued
- Coordinating with campuses on reconciling differences
- Following up with Financial Administrators to question any discrepancies in reports and to ensure data is accurate
- Monitoring business related financial transactions to ensure timely and accurate postings and recordkeeping
- Keeping up to date with filing
- Assisting the Accounting team with a variety of duties as required and providing administrative support to all members of the Accounting department
- Performing routine clerical duties in various administrative functions that required in accounting department
- Assisting with special projects when required
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Entering vendor invoice accurately to ensure proper coding and approval is met
- Ensure all payment requests are addressed to ensure all vendors are paid on a timely and accurate manner
- Support Accounts Payable team throughout the AP cycle and review work productivity for completeness and accuracy
- Regularly provide an analysis of Accounts Payable sub ledger to Senior Accountant and Controller
- Investigate any discrepancies in vendor accounts and AP sub ledger and provide solutions to the AP team
- Creation and additional development of supporting packages, reports and processes to increase team efficiencies
- Management of CAD and USD invoices to ensure appropriate and optimal exchange rates
- Work and communicate with other departments to work together to solve various issues that may arise

**POSITION REQUIREMENT**

To be successful in the Accounts Payable Administrator position, individuals must be committed to developing, maintaining and demonstrating the following:
**Education and Experience**:

- Must have a certificate/diploma or degree in Accounting
- One to three years of accounts payable experience required

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
- Strong computer keyboarding/number entry skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Word, Outlook
- Ability to use various office equipment including fax and photocopy machines
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task
- Ability to work independently with general supervision
- Good judgment and ability to prioritize assignments
- Ability to exhibit a professional attitude and image with a commitment to quality service
- Ability to exhibit strong Leadership skills; must have the ability to support and coach team members.
- Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills
