**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**

We are seeking a Packaging Quality Specialist.
This role will be based out of our Eastside Facility in Etobicoke.

**WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE**
- Show thorough understanding of interactions between machine, materials, methods, environment, and people to provide robust operating systems.
- Value stream mapping of packaging and systems to ensure that packaging is fit for purpose and is optimized for cost, transport, and sustainability.
- Provide key technical support in capital projects and new product & packaging material testing and system start-ups.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of packaging systems, including trials and test plans for new and modified components. Verify / Validate packaging components and packaging processes for new and existing products.
- Prepare packaging validation protocols and reports to support the implementation of a new process and equipment..
- Coordinate with Quality Control in establishing packaging specifications for new packaging components and modifications (if required) to the existing packaging components.
- Ensure component production and filling / assembly are operating efficiently at optimal rate of production.
- Responsible for ensuring that all packaging systems or processes meet specified internal and external regulations for safety and quality.
- Responsible for qualification of new and existing equipment within the Filling and Packaging department. Ensure GMP’s and product safety guidelines are adhered to.
- Complete packaging testing and technical investigations for commercial design improvements.

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE**
- BS degree in Packaging Science or Engineering.
- Institute of Packaging Professional (IOPP) certification preferred.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in cosmetics or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) packaging.
- Experience in CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and drawings. Knowledge of materials used in the construction and manufacturing of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging including but not limited to: Injection molding, Extrusion molding, Metal forming., Glass forming, Vacuum forming, Assembly of components, Folding carton and rigid box design
