**Medical Administrator - Surrey**

WMC is currently looking for a Medical Administrator to support our growing Burnaby Occupational Health Team. This position is a full time position (40 hours - Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30pm). WMC is committed to supporting employers in maintaining a healthy workplace through prevention and response of workplace absences, including medical surveillance, testing and assessments.
- Coordinate the flow of patients in the examination and treatment areas to ensure efficient use of the facility and the Physician's schedule
- Your main duties will include all administrative functions, medical testing, specimen collection/processing, making appointments, patient reception, form completion, filing and answering phones.
- Ensure proper documentation (i.e. patient information and forms are accurate in patient chart) and when necessary liaising with medical laboratories and/or Physician offices for appropriate patient documentation
- Prepare patient for physician evaluation, including but not limited to, measuring pulse rate, blood pressure, height, weight, and BMI and record information on patient's chart appropriately.
- Take patient medical and social history
- Review medication list and present to Physician
- Coordinate follow-up appointments and assist with arranging complex appointments
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary medical supplies.
- Manage patient results (lab, x-ray)
- Equipment maintenance and calibration
- All medical testing and examination is reviewed and ready for sign-off or put in pending if appropriate
- Supplies and Drugs in stock monthly
- Maintain office inventory
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology
- Working in the clinic and potentially off-site

Responsibilities of this role may also include:

- Pulmonary Function Screening along with Calibration
- Orthorator - vision screen
- Audiograms
- EKG
- Mask Fit Testing
- Vitals (Blood pressure, pulse)
- Urinalysis, Drug Collection and Breath Alcohol
- Wellness Program (accompanied by a nurse)
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements preferred, but not limited to**:

- Post Secondary Education in Medical Administrator
- Proficiency in measuring blood pressure, pulmonary function, audiograms and vision testing, drug and alcohol testing - or able to undergo training course.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Superior time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail is required
- Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Proficient computer and dictation skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- CPR certification

Job position: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday

Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
