Refer to the "How to apply" section if you require a disability-related accommodation. **What can I expect to do in this role?**: You will: - prepare monthly financial forecast and provide financial analysis and support - assist in the preparation of financial transactions and reporting requirements for monthly and year end activities - analyze financial reports and data, identifying discrepancies and issues - assist in maintaining information and manage service level agreements with service providers - process financial transactions relating to accounts payable, petty cash, revenue, purchasing, fleet, and inventory control - assist in the creation and tracking of all regional case files for transfer payment recipients in Transfer Payment Ontario (TPON) - prepare and submit the regional monthly fleet vehicle log - coordinates the payment of invoices and receipt of recoveries and reviews and reconciles with financial reports **Please note**: Attendance at the Hamilton office location below, will be required in alignment with OPS' current hybrid work model. **How do I qualify?**: **Financial Administration Knowledge and Skills**: - You have demonstrated knowledge of financial management, reporting and procedures, accounting policies and procedures relating to purchasing, accounts payable, petty cash, and inventory control. - You have demonstrated accounting knowledge, and proficiency with accounting principles and regulations. **Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills**: - You have demonstrated analytical skills to forecast expenditure and monitoring transfer payment accounts. - You have demonstrated mathematical skills to analyze, monitor and process documents. - You can investigate complex and problematic reconciliation situations and perform on-line inquiries to assess and define errors and escalate for a resolution. - You can reconcile financial transactions, balancing trust accounts, analyze over/under payments and identify gaps and discrepancies. **Technical Skills**: - You have proven experience using corporate financial systems to manage transfer payments, create accounts, co-ordinate and monitor transaction processing, conduct bank and financial reconciliations, and produce financial reports. - You are proficient with software applicants such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, to produce charts, graphs, agendas, correspondence, reports, presentations, tables and spreadsheets. **Communication and Interpersonal Skills**: - You can clearly and concisely communicate information and recommendations and respond accurately, tactfully and with discretion to requests for information. - You can explain accounting procedures related to accounts payable (e.g. P-Card expenditures, travel claims, journal entries, and I-Expenses). - You have demonstrated written communication skills to prepare letters, financial and statistical reports, and journal entries. - You can prepare concise analysis and reporting for regional staff. - You can establish strong working relationships with stakeholders and foster effective working relationships, both internal and external, at all levels (e.g. team members, suppliers, institutional staff, Central Agency staff). **Planning and Organizational Skills**: - You have organizational and time management skills and the demonstrated ability to multi-task, balance competing priorities, and work under tight timelines. - You can effectively organize incoming invoices, back-up materials for chargebacks, out-going journals for services and ensure journals are handled in an expeditious manner. - You can maintain accurate records and files and organize your workload. **Additional Information**: **Address**: - 1 Temporary, duration up to 12 months, 290 Fennell Ave W, Hamilton, West Region, Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check, Credit History Check, PIP/NICHE/RMS **Compensation Group**: - Ontario Public Service Employees Union- Understanding the job ad - definitions**Schedule**: - 3**Category**: - Administ
