**About the Role**
The **Digital and Social Media Specialist **is an integral part of our incredibly talented and diverse D2C marketing team, working on both our parent brand, CanadaHelps.org, and our cause-focused brand, Unite for Change.

They see injustices in the world and want to be a part of global solutions. With Unite for Change, Canadians can make an impact on the entirety of the cause they care about, donating to solve for the issues that mean most to them.
There is an exciting opportunity to grow and nurture communities around social good and charitable giving through creative content and strategic social media engagement. These efforts will ultimately impact Canadian charities with increased donations and an engaged donor audience.
Alongside a collaborative team, the **Digital and Social Media Specialist **will have both strong support and direction on our overarching goals and what we need to do to achieve them, and they’ll have the creative freedom to bring forward ideas on what we can do to amplify our impact.
**Responsibilities**
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain social media calendar for 2 brands: CanadaHelps and Unite for Change
- Create and collaborate on omnichannel multimedia content
- Schedule and post content across social networks
- Build brand awareness and grow CanadaHelps and Unite for Change’s presence and fan base on social media
- Community moderation and engagement for both CanadaHelps and Unite For Change’s social media channels
- Support the D2C team with content planning and creation
- Report on organic social media activities through data analysis
- Provide recommendations for improving organic social media results
- Analyze performance metrics and draw conclusions with actionable insights
- Recommend and test social media platforms not yet being leveraged (for example TikTok)
**Required Skills and Experience**
- 3+ years experience with social media marketing particularly in content creation and growing online communities
- Develop social media editorial calendar in collaboration with D2C team and own the end-to-end content development process (from initial outline to publication).
- Proactively engage with followers, reaching out and interacting with potential new followers, and working with the PR team to engage influencers
- Creating content in a variety of formats for different marketing channels, including but not limited to: social media posts, reels, TikToks, social and digital ads, and blogs. This includes researching and collaborating on developing strategic concepts.
- Create engaging and professional visuals that reflect the CanadaHelps & UFC brands with support from the Graphic Designer
- Continue to refine and define our social marketing process
- Stays abreast and makes recommendations of new social media evolutions and platforms - including use of AI for content creation
- Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills, with a high standard for managing brand tone
- Enthusiasm for collaborating in a remote environment
- Familiarity with Sprout Social and Canva or similar content schedulers and content creation tools
- Experience putting together simple videos / animations for social media such as IG Reels or TikTok
