**Job Summary**:
In this role you will manage the day-to-day activities of our billing operations, promote a culture of customer service and value-added products.

**Responsibilities**:

- Billing process standardization, including process updates and implementing controls
- Serve as a key member and assist in the planning, design and testing of new implementations at the system and reporting levels that benefit in the better and more efficient tasks performance
- Monitoring and compliance of the Operations team in India
- Communications lead and Dispute Management for CPA/BBB complaints
- Monitor and implement resolutions for Utility Billing exceptions
- Primary liaison for Utility Billing disputes
- Account and documentation compliance with focus on database standardization
- Escalation point for investigation on systems, account, vendor, customer discrepancies
- Create and manage customer communications which comply with legal and product certification requirements
- Complete audit tasks as requested by internal and external auditors.
- Work with utilities, market participants and EDI provider to investigate and resolve missing 867/810 files
- Lead or participate in projects such as technology upgrades and business process improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities within the team and across Operations to optimize, enhance or improve.
- Participate in selecting, orientating, and training new employees.
- Oversee direct reports to provide direction of daily activities towards accomplishing the departments strategic goals including, but not limited to, employee training, coaching, development, and performance evaluation.
- Inspire and motivate employees to perform at their best through effective leadership, excellent work ethic, clear communication, as well as a positive attitude.
- Good decision-making skills and response to high-pressure situations.

**Requirements**:

- Must be detail oriented with a strong ability to identify a pattern in a problem, conduct research, co-ordinate with the appropriate back-end teams to solve operational problems and deliver solutions to customer inquiries.
- Advanced soft skills with the ability to discuss complex and difficult issues to all levels in the organization.
- Must be a team player and be willing to work flexible hours, if required.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to complete tasks and coordinate project activities.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast growing and fast paced environment while consistently delivering accuracy and meeting firm deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to develop and lead high performing teams.
- High technical aptitude with ability to understand new tools and data.
- Experience in any one of the following areas is preferred -Billing, EDI Transaction processing.

**Experience**:

- 3+ years of experience in managing/supervising employees, including leading efforts and setting direction for projects and staff, is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience of retail gas and/or electric industry experience is preferred.

**Education**:

- Grade 12 diploma or GED is required.
- Bachelor ‘s degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

**Technology Requirements**:

- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.).
- GBASS experience preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel - pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, etc.
- Basic knowledge of SQL
