**Community and Engagement Coordinator, School of Rehabilitation Science**:
**Primary Purpose**: The Community Engagement Coordinator determines and implements strategies to achieve the School of Rehabilitation Science’s (SRS) engagement goals and vision. This position applies expertise in rehabilitation sciences and acts as a resource to internal and external stakeholders to analyze needs and develop tactical plans that support medium-term objectives for community engagement, alumni relations, and advancement initiatives. The coordinator plays a key role in strengthening relationships between SRS and its community partners and stakeholders, supporting the School’s expansion to include Occupational Therapy (OT) and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) programs by fostering meaningful connections and promoting equitable student support across all programs. Acting as a liaison between the rehabilitation community, SRS leadership, and the College of Medicine’s Advancement Office, the coordinator ensures alignment of engagement efforts with institutional priorities and supports collaborative initiatives that enhance visibility, alumni involvement, and philanthropic support.

**Nature of Work**: Reporting to the Director of SRS and collaborating with the College of Medicine’s Director of Advancement, the coordinator exercises judgment in planning and prioritizing engagement initiatives and represents the School in various forums. The role emphasizes engagement, community outreach, and collaborative support for advancement initiatives, providing guidance and acting as a resource for faculty and staff on best practices in community engagement. It requires a proactive, relationship-focused approach, strong communication skills, independent decision-making, and the ability to work in a dynamic academic environment. Occasional travel, evening, and weekend work may be required.

**Typical Duties or Accountabilities**:
**Key Responsibilities**

**Community Engagement**

- Analyze current engagement gaps and recommend tactical solutions to strengthen relationships with alumni and clinical communities across PT, OT, and SLP professions
- Develop and implement strategies for outreach and communications that foster meaningful connections
- Collaborate with Communications staff to highlight alumni stories and achievements

**Program Support and Equity in Student Awards**

- Work with the SRS Awards Committee to identify gaps in existing PT scholarships and bursaries
- Support the development of equitable awards for OT and SLP students
- In collaboration with the College of Medicine’s Advancement Office and acting as a delegate of the SRS Director, liase with prospective donors and community partners to promote student support initiatives

**Collaborative Advancement Support**

- Partner with the College of Medicine's Advancement Office to support donor stewardship and recognition activities
- Provide background and context for donor engagement, ensuring alignment with SRS priorities
- Assist in preparing materials such as impact reports, donor communications, and event briefings

**Strategic Communications and Institutional Alignment**

- Ensure consistency with university branding, messaging, and engagement policies
- Participate in planning meetings and training sessions with SRS and College of Medicine teams
- Contribute to strategic planning and evaluation of engagement initiatives

**Accountability**:
Accountable for exercising independent judgment in achieving engagement objectives and ensuring alignment with the School’s vision and goals Responsible for analyzing needs, determining steps, and implementing tactical plans that support medium-term priorities

**Education**: A relevant degree in health sciences, preferably a rehabilitation science degree.

**Experience**:

- Minimum five years of experience in community engagement, rehabilitation science or related fields
- Familiarity with the University of Saskatchewan and rehabilitation science disciplines is required
- Experience in relationship management, project coordination, and strategic communications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences

**Salary**: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $69,035.00 - 107,868.00 per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
