**Science Outreach Coordinator, College of Arts and Science**:
**Primary Purpose**: To coordinate the Science Ambassador Program, assist the Manager of Science Outreach in coordinating the Kamskénow program, as well as provide support for other science outreach initiatives offered through the Science Outreach office in the College of Arts & Science.

**Typical Duties or Accountabilities**:
Coordinating the Science Ambassador Program, which will include:

- Hiring student Science Ambassadors.
- Arranging Science Ambassador professional development opportunities.
- Providing oversight, resources, and direction to Science Ambassadors as they plan engaging and culturally-relevant activities to connect with identified STEM learning needs in participating schools on a community-by-community basis.
- Logistical arrangements related to Science Ambassador travel, purchase and shipment of science materials, and securing community-based housing.
- Ongoing developmental program assessment including: dissemination and analysis of qualitative surveys for school staff, students and ambassadors; post-placement debriefing with school administrators and ambassadors; and accessing opportunities for objective external review.
- Securing ongoing program sponsorship, maintaining positive donor relations, and working with other College and University science outreach programs (e.g. VIDO).
- Creating and working within an annual program budget.
- Promoting the Science Ambassador Program to campus and off-campus community by: creating and disseminating an informative annual program report and brochure; maintaining an up-to-date program website; and coordinating an annual Science Ambassador Celebration event.
- Along with the Director of Science Outreach, coordinating the Kamskénow program
- Sustaining and enhancing General Science Outreach programming
- Providing leadership and supervision of the Science Outreach Team
- Ensuring effective delivery and sustainability of all outreach activities
- Designing and developing engaging, culturally-responsive, hands-on science programming
- Co-instructing with Science Outreach Instructors
- Promoting U of S science students, faculty and research activities to the general public

**Education**: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline (science or science education), Graduate Degree is preferred. Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
