**Communications and Strategic Initiatives Coordinator, School of Rehabilitation Science**:
**Primary Purpose**: To oversee the School of Rehabilitation Science (SRS) communications strategy and provide leadership and oversight in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to advance the priorities and goals of the SRS.
**Nature of Work**: Reporting to the Director of the SRS, this position works collaboratively with faculty and staff of the SRS and other units within the College and USask on a variety of strategic initiatives within the SRS, including expansion and implementation of new programs. The incumbent will work independently and collaboratively, requiring considerable discretionary decision-making and confidentiality in handling information. This position requires adaptability to fluctuating levels of work volume, working comfortably under pressure in a fast-paced environment and balancing competing deadlines.
**Typical Duties or Accountabilities**:
**Communications**
- Develop, implement and evaluate short and long-term internal and external communications strategies to support and advance the strategic directions of the SRS as well as raise the profile and advance the reputation of the School
- Provide leadership in the preparation and distribution of School communications highlighting achievements of faculty, staff and students including oversight of the SRS Annual Report
- Provide strategic oversight of the SRS website, social media and internal communications channels; ensuring content is current and engaging for target audiences
- Liaise with College of Medicine Communications, University Communications and clinical communities to facilitate communications around the rehabilitation professions
- Prepare reports for SRS and College of Medicine leadership, committees and governance bodies as required
**Strategic Initiatives**
- Provide support to the Director and other leaders within the SRS on strategic initiatives including expansion of the MPT program and development and implementation of OT and SLP programs
- In consultation with Director and others, support SRS policy review and revision
- In consultation with Director and others, provide high level oversight and coordination of accreditation processes for all programs
- Collaborate with others, including College of Medicine Dean’s office, on strategic planning processes for the SRS
- Provide strategic direction for SRS student recruitment initiatives
- Participate in a range of committee and working group meetings, team planning and other activities that contribute to SRS goals and priorities
**Special Projects**
- Works with the Director and other SRS leaders on time-limited projects related to the mission and goals of the SRS, College, and University
**Education**: An undergraduate degree is required; graduate level education an asset. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
**Experience**: A minimum of five years’ of directly-related experience within a post-secondary setting with demonstrated progression in level of responsibility. Knowledge of the University of Saskatchewan academic environment and rehabilitation science disciplines is required. Experience with programs in health sciences, proposal development, project management, communications and a broad understanding of the post-secondary academic sector is required. Familiarity with managing databases and websites is required. Demonstrated experience in fostering effective professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders is required.

**Salary**: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $67,681.00 - 105,753.00 per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
