**Clinical Specialist, School of Rehabilitation Science**:
**Primary Purpose**: The overall purpose of this position is to support the planning and delivery of a high quality Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) program. The primary dimensions associated with this position are in the areas of: 1) MPT clinical teaching and support of faculty in the development and implementation of high quality curriculum (in areas of foundational PT practice; thermal injury; cardiorespiratory care; and management and amputee care) and 2) program administrative support including development, implementation and evaluation of new clinical placements and other committee work. This temporary position works independently, as part of an administrative team and in close collaboration with the Director and Academic Lead Clinical Education and Community Affairs.

**Nature of Work**: Reporting to the Director of the School of Rehabilitation Science (Master of Physical Therapy Program), this position supports the MPT program with special emphasis on contributions to MPT teaching and teaching support; curriculum and quality assurance; MPT clinical placement student supervision in primary care settings, and administrative assistance.

**Typical Duties or Accountabilities**:
**MPT Clinical Teaching/Course Coordination**:

- Works with the Director to coordinate and deliver delegated MPT clinical teaching and learning activities.
- Supports PT faculty and students in the delivery of high quality MPT programming with a focus on enhancing teaching effectiveness and team teaching in areas of foundational PT practice, thermal injury, cardiorespiratory, and amputee care

**New Clinical Placement Development, Implementation & Evaluation**
- Works with the Director and Academic Lead Clinical Education and Community Affairs to develop, implement and evaluate new MPT student placement opportunities in primary care settings.

**PT Program and School Admin related**:

- Works with the Director to support MPT program quality assurance
- Other assigned administrative tasks relate to MPT program and quality assurance.

**Education**: Entry to practice physical therapy degree.

**Experience**:

- A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a physical therapist.
- Inter-professional collaborative practice experience in primary care settings.
- A minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a PT entry to practice program, with a focus in foundational PT practice, thermal injury, cardiorespiratory and amputee care.
- Project management, quality improvement, and/or program administration experience in healthcare and/or education settings.

Demonstrated clinical expertise, effective interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to adapt to change, organize work, set priorities, and work as part of a team; ability to show initiative; ability to work on multiple projects, in a diverse environment and to meet deadlines; self-motivated; ability to problem-solve effectively in an independent manner with excellent organizational and analytical skills, and computer literacy (Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word).

The position is in scope of the Administrative and Supervisory Personnel Association (ASPA).

**Salary**: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $67,681 - $105,753 per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
