**Department**: Cash Management and Development Accounting

Position Summary
Process accounts payable and work on all assigned projects efficiently and with great attention to detail. Ensure that appropriate respect and attention is given by each member of his/her team to the other functional areas of the company, our partners/co-owners, our auditors, our tenants, and outside vendors with which they must coordinate to accomplish their mission.

**Responsibilities**:
The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

- Process all payables relating to assigned portfolio, which includes invoices, contracts, cheque requisitions;
- Coding, entering and scanning payables in accounting system;
- Entering revisions to budgets into the accounting system if required;
- Entering contracts and change orders into the accounting system if required:

- Obtaining necessary approvals;
- Produce and review cheques, matching with backup and preparing same for submission to Supervisor to obtain signature;
- Review of outstanding Development Purchase Orders and confirming need to maintain the commitment or coordinate the closing with the respective business area;
- Review monthly Architect Certificates for completeness and accuracy:

- Review aging report on a bi-weekly basis for timeliness of approvals and payments;
- Assist with various aspects of the accounting system conversion;
- Reconcile accounts when necessary;
- Responsible for filing, archiving and retrieving all paid files and provide copies of all necessary invoices, as required by others and special projects (i.e. Audits);
- Liaison with Construction and Operations Department, Business Units and Accounting;
- Perform special assignments as required.

**Academic/Professional Requirements**:

- College Diploma and/or Certificate;
- Enrolled in 1st or 2nd level of Professional Accounting Program (CA, CGA, CMA).

**Required Skills/Experience**:

- Minimum two years business experience - 1 to 2 years real estate management, development and/or construction experience preferred;
- Good oral and written communication skills;
- Good computer skills from both an Accounting System and PC based point of view.
