Space Race Cannabis is a leading Licensed Producer in Edmonton, specializing solely in the processing of high-quality cannabis products. As we embark on our next phase of growth, we’re looking for a dedicated and experienced Production Manager to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview:
The Production Manager will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating the day-to-day operational activities of the facility. This individual will ensure the seamless coordination of production plans, orders, and inventory. The role requires someone who can lead with vision, manage multiple direct reports, and optimize the production process to ensure efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight: Oversee all daily operations to ensure production targets are met, resources are utilized efficiently, and quality standards are upheld.
- Team Leadership: Manage and lead a diverse team consisting of Inventory Managers & Production Managers, Team Leaders, and additional staff. Provide guidance, training, and feedback to enhance performance.
- Conduct daily mid-afternoon meetings with team leads to review progress and address bottlenecks.
- Coordinate training for production staff, delegating as appropriate.
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes for production employees.
- Inventory Management: Work closely with the inventory team to manage stock levels, ensure accurate record-keeping, and coordinate the timely ordering of materials.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas of improvement in the production process. Implement and monitor changes to drive efficiency and reduce costs.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all operations are compliant with local and national regulations, maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality at all times.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with sales and marketing teams to forecast demand and ensure production targets align with business objectives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Operations Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in a production or manufacturing leadership role.
- Strong team management and performance coaching skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working on the production floor with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent understanding of production planning, warehouse management, and inventory systems.
- Proficient in the use of relevant software and tools for production and inventory management.
- Knowledge of cannabis processing standards and regulations is an asset
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment and handle multiple priorities.
