**About us**

The Cultivated B (TCB) is a highly innovative and science-driven biotechnology and bioengineering company from Germany, focusing on developing and manufacturing high-precision systems for cellular agriculture and pharmaceutical industry.

Our recently opened facility in Burlington, ON, is focused on the development and production of bioreactors, photobioreactors and advanced machineries for cellular agriculture and precision fermentation. Our integrated R&D center within the same facility is an Ontario hub for innovation in bioprocess design and optimization, plant-based engineering, food technology and scaled alternative protein production.

**Position Overview**

As a Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for establishing the TCB Canada Group’s (TCB Canada, TCB REH and PreFer Industries) procurement processes and overseeing all purchasing. This includes both direct (goods) and indirect (services) buying for a) manufacturing operations, b) clean room operations, c) facility management, and any other vendor contracts.

With an in-depth experience and proven track record in purchasing, buying, and procurement, you will control the spending, match spending to budget, identify and on-board new suppliers, and ensure contract compliance for warranties, rebates, and more. You will be the key point of contact for a variety of vendors in North America and overseas.

Within the next two years you will develop a team of direct and indirect buyers, implement a P2P system, and grow the purchasing department into a major driver of value for TCB.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain the purchase process for manufacturing, clean room, and corporate teams
- Management of the purchase to pay process
- Coordination of the order inputs from the individual buyers and specialist departments
- Active participation in the further development of purchasing processes and sources
- Incoming goods and inventory control for consumables
- Maintenance and development of supplier relationships
- Participation in purchasing controlling, in cost-saving measures and in negotiating framework agreements
- Accounts opening and master data capture as well as data maintenance
- Ongoing reporting to the VP Operations and the Plant Manager
- You have a degree and / or apprenticeship as well as 5+ years (minimum) professional experience in purchasing in a manufacturing and/or biotechnology environment
- You have strong experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics / Microsoft Business Central)
- You have good negotiating skills, strong communication skills and a confident manner
- You are organized, decisive and can quickly familiarize yourself with new issues
- You are a team player, you are characterized by an independent, careful and structured way of working, you have a pronounced organizational talent, think solution-oriented and can set priorities
- This position is based on-site at TCB Canada headquarters in Burlington
