**ROLE**

As a Scheduling Coordinator at Muskoka Algonquin Health Care you will ensure the required staff are scheduled and that all their payroll scheduling details are recorded in a fiscally responsible manner in accordance with collective agreements and hospital policies. Additional responsibilities of this role include;
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge and understanding of ONA, SEIU, OPSEU Paramedical and OPSEU Office & Clerical Collective Agreements (specifically, language relating to hours of work, scheduling and premium pay), to accurately ensure that the scheduling needs of the department are met, avoiding premium pay situations when possible.
- Schedules and enters payroll for departments as assigned.
- Daily collaboration/communication with Clinical Leaders, Managers,, Clinical Education Coordinator, Human Resources Team Members, Payroll Administrators, Occupational Health & Safety and staff members in order to fulfil departmental staffing and payroll needs.
- Resolve staffing needs (conflicts) related to schedules and payroll, in a timely and courteous manner keeping the focus on building trusting relationships while adhering to collective agreements and hospital policies.
- Provides assistance and collaborates with the Human Resources Department to coordinate new hires for staff orientations, staff grievance data, and statistical data related to scheduling details and staff planning in a confidential, discreet manner.

**REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)**
- College Diploma or Certificate in Office Administration, Human Resources or Business related studies.

**REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)**
- One year administrative experience in a Health Care Environment with specific experience having worked with multi-disciplinary teams.
- 2-3 years recent scheduling experience in a unionized environment.
- Ability to develop master rotations and scheduling templates.
- Excellent knowledge and interpretation of Collective Agreements
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative in a high volume, busy work environment requiring flexibility, adaptability and critical prioritization skills.
- Ability to time manage, prioritize, and multi-task to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with a variety of different individuals in a calm, collaborative, problem solving manner.
- Proficient computer skills having worked with software programs including Scheduling Software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Excellent keyboarding and word processing skills.
- Familiarity with hospital and staffing patterns.
- Working knowledge with computer software programs including Quadrant, and Quadrant Report Writer an asset.
- Show an eagerness and capacity to adapt to change.
- Demonstrated strong ability to identify, analyse and creatively solve problems.
- Demonstrated appreciation and respect for protocol, professionalism, and confidentiality.
