Cheam determines an individual’s pay based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team. The compensation range for this role is $60,000 - 70,000.

**A day at the office would include**:
- Develop, collaborate and implement human resource strategies with executive team that align HR strategies with organizational objectives
- Provide human resource consultation and direction on key people issues, such as workforce planning, talent management, performance management, succession planning, employee retention and engagement, conflict resolution, employee relations, benefits and compensation management, and compliance to all applicable legislation and regulations
- Lead and provide support to all levels of management on performance and employee relations issues, and provide coaching and guidance that ensures the effective implementation of a robust performance review process and the identification and development of key talent within the organization
- Spearhead guidance and feedback during annual goal setting, interim and annual performance reviews while ensuring alignment for continuous employee development opportunities and programs, recognition, merit recommendations regarding employee development
- Develop organizational wide training programs, including cross training & occupational safety planning
- Oversee progressive levels of disciplinary process in accordance with federal regulations/legislation
- Facilitate onboarding and orientation for all new hires
- Prepare, execute and own the full process of employee documentation throughout an employee’s life cycle, from beginning to end of employment relationship
- Assist employees with HR issues including HR policies, vacation, compensation and benefits and programs
- Prepare organizational wide HR communication of new programs, announcements and document distribution
- Facilitate change management that continues to support employee, values, community and culture
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to enhance HR processes, to ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture through effective employee engagement initiatives
- Coordinate and execute staff events and luncheons
- Lead community skills and needs assessment development
- Collaborate with the Education and Social Assistants Managers, SASET and other partners to ensure Member training, support and development
- Collaborations with all Cheam and subsidiaries to forecast member workforce, professional service & local industry long term needs
- Payroll and employee benefits administration, including compliance with WorkSafeBC
- Oversee Salary & Competency Grids and incentive programs
- Assisting Executive & Finance teams with overall Wage & Benefits budget forecasting
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Minimum 5-8 years of successful Human Resources Management experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources required (will consider similar fields)
- CPHR designation preferred
- Knowledge, respect and understanding of Sto:lo culture, traditions and language an asset
- Experience working with First Nations community is considered an asset
