Corner’s Pride Farms is a leading dairy farm operation located in the beautiful Fraser Valley. We are known as leaders in the industry, with a focus on utilizing robotics technology to enhance the wellbeing of our dairy cows while seeking opportunities to improve efficiencies as well as advancing the careers of our employees. We are currently seeking a **Controller - Office Manager** to join our talented team at our Rosedale head office location. Are you the one?
**The Position**
As the successful applicant, you will seek out opportunities for improvement, including proactively identifying and recommending operational opportunities to improve financial performance. You are a forward thinker - always looking for ways to enhance and improve operations. In addition, you will be responsible for a wide breadth of accounting, financial, and office management activities. This includes but is not limited to:
- Overseeing completion and accuracy of all accounting functions for the organization
- Manage office staff and office functions
- Seek out and analyze opportunities and threats to CPF operations from a financial perspective
- Review and scrutinize monthly budgets with the primary task of ensuring budgets are updated while highlighting and explaining variances as well as recommending corrective action
- Prepare bank documents as required, attend bank meetings, and ensure compliance with bank covenants and reporting
- Pursue grants and programs for money available for projects
- Complete monthly financial statements and supporting documents
- Correspond with external accountant at year-end
- Monitor cashflow on a regular basis
- Work with Human Resources for posting of open job ads for local and foreign workers
- Identify and recommend operational improvements where necessary
- Ensure timely completion of various operational and executive reports for presentation to General Manager and Management Team
- Participate in all departmental team meetings
- Act as a representative of Corners Pride Farms at industry functions
- Maintain accurate and up to date records for government and legislative agencies
- Prepare annual operating budgets and financial forecasts for ownership
- Ensure CPF presents itself to the community as a responsible farm business and industry leader
**Qualifications**
In order to be considered for this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- Advanced working knowledge of cost and financial accounting
- High level of expertise in information technology and systems
- Sage 50 Accounting proficiency is an asset
- A post-secondary degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance and/or combination of experience and educational credentials
- Exposure to agricultural business sector is considered an asset
- Ability to work enthusiastically and independently in a team environment
- Well-developed management and leadership skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to connect with stakeholders within and outside the organization
