**PURPOSE OF POSITION**:
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES**:

- Supports as People Development (PD) Team Pillar Lead, interacting with plant floor personnel to help identify training needs, develop and implement Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Utilizes radar and flex charts for employee and leadership competencies to ensure hiring and develop required is focused on and part of the PD training plan
- Analyses trends and conducts training evaluations utilizing Lean Manufacturing methodologies and presenting IATF 16949 to ensure COMPLETE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
- Facilitates and promotes a work environment based on the Company Code of Conduct and Unifor CBA
- Meets with union chair to resolve labour relations issues prior to written complaints
- Promotes positive workforce engagement and morale through employee suggestion and rewards programs. Organizes summer picnic and various holiday or fundraising events
- Recruits and onboards skilled trades, salary positions and researches salary market data for salary offer worksheet
- Provides support with hourly recruitment and Orientation when necessary
- Facilitates succession planning in line with World Class Manufacturing criteria for Pillar Leads
- Administers the Monthly Rewards & Recognition program including Quality Catches and assists HR Coordinator with the annual Service Award program.
- Establishes and monitors PD operating budget; identifies and implements activities to encourage positivity
- Other Duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager or Plant Manager
- Assists HR department with HR projects and activities and provides back-up for HRIS data entry during vacation
- Prepares and completes monthly reports and submits on time and as required including FCA and internal metrics
- Presents monthly Key Performance Indicators in PowerPoint for comparative and growth purposes
- This position has been identified as an Internal Auditor under IATF 16949

**JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge/Skill/Experience)**:

- Post-secondary degree and or diploma, with a focus in Human Resources or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment; CHRP or CHRL designation an asset
- Understanding of HR practices and principles including legislation: privacy, labour, pay, benefits, OHS, Human Rights
- Time management skills including time-blocking to plan, organize, prioritize and delegate tasks
- Ability to work under pressure with competing priorities efficiently and diplomatically as part of the team
- Able to work independently, pivot to respond to multiple requests and flexibility to change to support Management.
- Effective oral and written communication skills and champion of enhanced aptitude for respect and dignity
- Advanced Excel skills, experience with HRIS, Word and Powerpoint
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential records
- Confidence to make general decisions and persuade/motivate others

**MENTAL AND PHYSICAL EFFORT & WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Consistently work indoors sitting at a desk with frequent daily walking around plant
- Must be resilient and able to support position in conflicting and sometimes adversarial conversations
- Exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting while working in an office with colleagues
- Memory and ability to concentrate while co-operating with others and predominantly self-supervised
- Must wear appropriate personal protective gear in office and in plant per policy and legislation
