**Job Summary**

The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting operations within Ontario, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia. Within this hybrid work environment, this role would provide excellent home-work life balance. Aspects of this role may include, front line support, managing employee questions, performance management, labor relations, recruitment, organizational development, compliance and metrics as well as other HR programs. The ideal individual will demonstrate a high level of professionalism and the ability to work collaboratively with others.

**Job Duties**
- Act as first point of contact for employee relations issues and provide proactive advice.
- Provide guidance to employees regarding human resources related matters, policies & procedures.
- Manage the recruitment process: post jobs, screen applicants, facilitate interviews, proceed with approved job offers and carry out on-boarding and orientation.
- Prepare various HR metrics to support business objectives.
- Stay current and ensure compliance to all applicable legislation including The Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Rights Code and the Employment Standards Act.
- Provide and/or facilitate training as required and carry-out all activities related to the employee engagement survey.
- Performance Management liaison.
- Adhere to compliance-based regulations from a Company, Federal, Provincial and Municipal perspective.
- Assess and recommend updates to policy and procedure manuals.
- Collective Bargaining committee member.

**Qualifications**
- 5+ years of experience in a progressive HR function
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in an HR Generalist role.
- Good communication skills (written and spoken), sound judgement and a capacity to adapt to a fast paced environment.
- Relevant knowledge of many aspects of the HR profession.
- Good knowledge of Ontario Legislation: Employment Standards Act and Human Rights Legislation.
- Ability to deal with people in a respectful manner, with empathy and professionalism at all times.
- Ability to work efficiently as a part of a team, as well as independently.
- Ability to take initiative, prioritize workload and deploy as needed to reach and surpass objectives.

**Education**
- Completion of studies from an accredited post-secondary learning institution
- CHRP/CHRL is an asset

**Physical & Additional Requirements**
- Ability to walk, bend, twist and turn
- Climbing stairs may be required
- Ability to travel based on business needs to various interprovincial locations.
