**About the position**:
Currently, we are seeking a **Manager, Human Resources **to join our corporate People & Culture team in **Burnaby. **This position reports directly to the VP, People & Culture. This is an ideal position for an HR Generalist looking to make the next step in their career or someone early on in their HR Leadership path.

**About the Manager, Human Resources position**:

- Oversees and manages the work of the HR team Works closely with VP, P&C on all HR programs including strategy, engagement and culture.
- Oversee employee relations matters for union and non-union workforce.
- Works with management to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific development programs to fill the identified gaps.
- Support organizational change through planning and communication.
- Works with the VP and managers to develop programs and systems to ensure that employee performance is aligned with departmental and company goals.
- Advise/Coach managers on difficult employee matters, including dealing with staffing levels, mediating disputes, administering disciplinary procedures and employee terminations.
- Oversee the daily administration of Houle's benefit programs for non-union staff.
- HR Administration oversight - ensure ERP system data is accurate and providing appropriate reporting for the needs of the organization.
- Work closely with the other People and Culture disciplines (Marketing, communications, Safety &Payroll) to support alignment between teams.
- Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management (equivalent experience and qualifications may be considered).
- Experience in the construction industry or similar environment would be considered an asset.
- 2 to 3 years in a similar generalist HR role.
- Comfortable working at all levels of the organization
- Proven experience with leadership development, performance management, and implementation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team (including supporting remote client groups).
- Exceptional organization and planning skills with a demonstrated ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities effectively with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office and experience using ERP or HRIS systems.
- Previous experience supporting multiple locations is also considered an asset.
