**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
Health & Safety Compliance
- Developing and executing Health & Safety programs in accordance with company policies, practices and procedures.
- Oversees Joint Health & Safety Committee; Conducts and schedules bi-monthly meetings, collects and reports on workplace inspections, sets company goals and focus as it pertains to health and safety.
- Provide training and resources to employees on health and safety practices.
Payroll Administration
- Supports the Sr. Payroll Manager as a backup for full cycle payroll processing and benefits administration. Ensure accurate and timely payment to employees.
- Manages all requested leaves including Maternity Leave, Parental Leave, Critical Illness Leave, and sick day program.
WSIB Administration
- Manage WSIB claims and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with WSIB regulations and maintain accurate records.
- Liaise with employees and health practitioners to facilitate return-to-work programs.
General HR Duties
- Support employee relations and address any workplace issues.
- Maintain and update employee records in compliance with legal requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Human Resources Degree or Diploma; CHRP designation or currently working towards attaining preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in health and safety legislation and WSIB processes.
- Strong understanding of payroll systems and practices. Experience with ADP Workforce Now & Workforce Manager an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Can define own role, take on responsibilities, and manage priorities with mínimal guidance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs. and walk or stand for extended periods.
