Applications are invited for the position of Administrative Assistant, Human Resources in the Human Resources department, located at the Welland Campus. Hours of work are 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. The salary range for the position is $60,804 to $76,008 for a 35 hour work week. Reporting to the Senior Director, Human Resources, the Administrative Assistant, Human Resources is responsible for providing a range of management support functions to the HR leadership team and administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department. **Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**: - Provides a range of administrative activities that ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of the department, including ordering office supplies, mail distribution, managing files, etc. - Organizes and expedites key action items so that matters are handled promptly, efficiently, and with the appropriate degree of confidentiality - Manages calendar and exercises judgment in scheduling the Senior Director and HR leadership team activities and meetings - Coordinates and supports HR divisional meetings, various committee meetings, HR communications, and events - Interprets applicable HR policy/practices, collective agreements to respond to front-line inquiries - Compiles and formats data for HR metrics and reports as required - Budget monitoring to include processing cheque requisitions and expense forms, and reconciling the Visa accounts for the HR leadership team - Central point of contact for departmental documents and procedures and maintains HR department information on college website - Project coordination and tracking - HR operational functional duties "ability to anticipate needs and next steps with tasks or initiatives..." and "demonstrated problem-solving and planning skils" (I need someone who is proactive and can anticipate what will be needed). **Qualifications**: - Two (2) year diploma in Office, Business or Human Resources Administration - Minimum of three (3) years' experience working in an office environment, providing customer service and administrative support, preferably in a Human Resources department - Excellent time management, organizational, prioritization and task consolidation skills - Ability to work in an environment where diversity of people and situations are encountered - Ability to manage, organize and coordinate workload to meet deadlines, and to deal with multiple priorities - Proven abilities in working independently, exercising initiative and good judgement, maintaining professionalism, diplomacy, and discretionary skills in a highly confidential environment - Excellent customer service and relationship management - Excellent communication skills both verbal and written - Demonstrated problem-solving and planning skills and strong ability to anticipate needs and next steps with tasks or initiatives This position is primarily based in the Human Resources department at our Welland Campus, with some opportunity for remote work.
