Calgary Heritage Housing (CHH) has been a respected steward of local Alberta government-subsidized seniors housing for nearly four decades. Our focus is on seniors who are capable of independent living. Beyond our role as landlord/property manager of nine Calgary properties, we strive to enhance our seniors’ quality of life and help prolong their ability to live independently. We currently have an immediate opening for the position of:
**BUILDING ADMINISTRATOR**
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work as part of our Building Administration team to manage the tenant relationship and housing process, ensuring effective tenant relations in CHH buildings.
- Provide a friendly, efficient, and welcoming presence to the building including greeting tenants and visitors, and provide assistance as required
- Conduct prospective tenant interviews and evaluate eligibility
- Ensure lease agreements are completed and conduct thorough and welcoming orientation with new tenant to facilitate a smooth move-in
- Coordinate tenant move outs as required
- Maintain regular office hours to foster tenant relationships, address inquiries and handle concerns
- Participate in annual income reviews, new lease signing and suite inspections
- Ensure timely, accurate and confidential documentation of tenant records into our tenant database (Yardi)
- Uphold lease requirements and address tenant issues
- Perform occasional light “housekeeping” duties and tasks around the building
- Collaborate with the Life Enrichment Coordinator to support social programming
- Provide on-call tenant support as required; expected to be one week per month (details TBD)
**COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS**
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills, with a strong respect for tenants.
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and building collaborative work environments.
- Knowledge of the _Alberta Residential Tenancies Act_
- Minimum three years of experience in Building Administration or a Property Management role.
- Patience and compassion in working with seniors.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Critical thinking abilities and good judgment.
- Self-starter with strong prioritization and time management skills.
- Proficiency using technology, including Office 365 and Yardi.
- Must possess own vehicle, valid driver’s license, and insurance.
