**PURPOSE OF POSITION**

The position is responsible for the evaluating, sourcing, negotiating, planning and rewarding of contracts to suppliers. Strategic analysis of opportunities and understanding global market risks is critical in this role. The Purchaser purchases MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) supplies as the main function and as a backup, may be requested to purchase raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, etc., for all departments within the company.

**NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION**

Internally, the incumbent interacts primarily with Managers, Project Managers, and Purchasing Staff, as well as all other PWO personnel from the Sales, Production, Tooling, Quality, Maintenance, and Administration Departments. External contacts consist of suppliers, PWO AG and sister companies.

Problems encountered by the position include individuals failing to complete necessary paperwork properly, failing to get appropriate approvals, and inaccurate or incomplete use of the SAP system. The position must perform follow up regarding the ordered items especially if there are shipping errors, etc. The individual is responsible for his/her own work and does not coordinate the work of others. Activities performed by the position impact the department in the short-term.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

A post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related filed is considered an asset.

The incumbent must have excellent oral and written communication skills in order to source and negotiate prices with suppliers, problem solve with all departments about items and cost, complete necessary paperwork and for all normal technical/business communication.

1-3 years of experience in a purchasing or buying role, with a strong preference for experience in an MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) setting, particularly within the automotive industry.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Purchases MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) supplies as main function and as a backup, may be requested to purchase raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, etc., by sourcing suppliers, asking for quotes, negotiating pricing, and terms and conditions for payment.

2. Looks for new potential suppliers and performs full supplier evaluation.

3. Identifies supplier related risks and defines actions as part of the supplier evaluation process.

4. Researches market alternatives and analyzes the redundancy of our requirements in case of resource shortages or crisis.

5. Actively manages new supplier development from technical and quality perspectives.

6. Negotiates due dates of invoices and payment schedule.

7. Orders supplies, parts and services in accordance with purchasing policies; expedites orders and follows up to ensure items are delivered as ordered.

8. Orders non-inventory items and services by sourcing supplies, negotiating pricing, asking for quotes, and preparing purchase orders as needed. Expedites orders and follows up to ensure items are delivered as ordered.

9. Prepares various reports required by management or parent company.

10. Works on ESG related projects and responds to related enquires.

11. Proper use of electronic data collection equipment.

12. Performs all duties within the 5S standards.

13. Follows and performs to the processed and instructions as outlined in the Process House applicable to the department.

14. Compliance to all company HR policies and procedures.

15. Responsible for working safely, complying with safety policies and procedures, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) required in the designated areas as per company policy.

16. Responsible for keeping a safe work area for themselves and fellow employees. Reporting any unsafe working conditions, practices, and work-related injuries immediately to his/her Manager.

17. Any other job-related duties characteristic to the position, as may be assigned from time to time by the Manager and management team.

Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
