**JOB SUMMARY AND REQUIREMENTS**

**DESCRIPTION**

As the DI PACS System Administrator, you will assist with maintenance and upkeep of all systems while performing a range of daily tasks related to the Change Healthcare (McKesson) HMI PACS system. Additionally, system administrator will perform duties as directly assigned by the PACS Manager. It is expected that the system administrator triages and troubleshoots system issues prior escalating to the manager and engaging the vendor. The PACS Infrastructure is not strictly limited to the Radiology Imaging systems, but also includes support of other areas of the hospital when required (Endovascular, Dental, Endoscopy) along with vendor supplied equipment.

Additional duties relating to design and planning include; working with PACS Manager to liaison with radiologists, other clinicians, technologists, nurses and other users for changes efficiency and changes in workflow; creating and updating work instructions, policies and procedures; reviewing and assist in RFP requirements and scoring; designing and completing tests scripts; and reviewing and keeping up to date on standards as it relates to Imaging workflow and design (DICOM, HL7, IHE, Canadian Accreditation).

The DI System Administrator is also responsible for providing support and training within the department; liaising with Medical Affairs for training of new physicians; training new users in Imaging Services as they are on-boarded; documenting and troubleshooting issues reported by users; reviewing and resolving system related errors as they arise; after-hours support as required; maintaining a PACS infrastructure knowledge base; supporting technologists, radiologists and clerical staff; and consulting with PACS Manager about any workflow design or redesign opportunities arising from interactions with clinicians, technologists on appropriate workflow design and redesign opportunities.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree mandatory (preferred Information Technology or Computer Science)
- PACS (Imaging Informatics) education from an accredited institution preferred

**Experience**:

- Mandatory 3 or more years of experience in a Healthcare (Medical) Imaging environment (preferably in an acute care setting)
- Minimum 2 years, Health IT role

Competencies:

- Health IT knowledge
- Working knowledge of Medical Imaging Workflows (Diagnostic Imaging workflows, etc.)
- Working Knowledge of HL7 Standard including FIHR
- Working Knowledge of DICOM Standard
- Working Knowledge of IHE Technical framework
- Knowledge of Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 2008, 2012 and 2016 Server Operating Systems
- Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMWare preferred)
- Basic understanding of database and table structures
- Basic SQL knowledge - ability to run basic SQL queries across multiple database products (Microsoft SQL, Oracle)
- Understanding of project management framework to work within a scope
- Troubleshooting concepts and framework - hardware and software
- Knowledge of various computer systems hardware - desktop, servers, NAS, SAN, etc an asset
- Knowledge of at least 1 or more Medical Imaging software products preferably in Radiology workflow (vendor of hospital choice)
- Knowledge of software integration strategies (API)
- Working knowledge of Radiology Information System (RIS) preferably MEDITECH ITS
- Knowledge of Change Healthcare(McKesson PACS), Powerscribe 360, Syngo Via, Hyland PACS Gear, Hologic SecureView is preferred
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Background in teaching and training at the adult level an asset
