**Job Title: IT/System Administrator**
Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT System Administrator to join our team. This role encompasses a range of IT responsibilities, combining server management, network design, maintenance services, and liaising with external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Server Maintenance:
1. Scan event logs for possible errors and warnings: Monitor and maintain server health, utilizing knowledge of event log analysis.
2. Perform disk clean-up and defragmentation: Optimize server performance through regular clean-ups.
3. Perform hardware/software general maintenance: Conduct routine upkeep, clean-up, and health checks for servers.
5. Check anti-virus definitions: Ensure the server's security software is current and effective.
6. Check UPS: Monitor and maintain uninterruptible power supplies for server protection.
7. Check hardware system health: Regularly assess server hardware to prevent potential issues.
8. Check backup system: Verify the effectiveness and reliability of server backup processes.
9. Check licenses and update renewals: Manage software licenses and ensure renewals are up-to-date.
Support Services: Network Design:
1. Maintain and update network infrastructure: Keep network components functioning optimally.
2. Develop and maintain security appliances: Implement and manage security measures within the network.
3. Advise as per network requirements/stresses: Provide guidance on network scalability and performance.
4. Network software installation and maintenance: Install and maintain software supporting network operations.
5. Implement user network resource policies: Enforce policies to regulate user access and behavior on the network.
Maintenance Services:
1. On-going help desk services: Provide ongoing support and assistance to end-users.
2. License maintenance: Manage and renew software licenses.
3. Provide hardware/software upgrades (existing): Upgrade existing hardware and software components as needed.
4. Provide hardware/software installations (new): Install new hardware and software.
5. Install all hardware/software updates: Keep all systems up-to-date.
6. Setup equipment as per user & organization requirements: Configure equipment according to user and organizational needs.
8. Cell phone setup: Configure mobile devices for organizational use.
9. Maintain & document software subscriptions: Manage and document software subscriptions.
10. Maintain all aspects of outside company services: Oversee external services such as domain registrations, website maintenance, subscription services, and security services.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Provide ongoing support and technical advice for outsourced equipment/services: Assist with external services and equipment.
2. Liaison with additional company relationships: Serve as a point of contact with external providers, including internet and telephone services.
3. Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for systems and processes.
4. General troubleshooting & Repair: Identify and resolve technical issues across various systems.
Skills Required:
- Technical expertise: Knowledge of server maintenance, network design, and IT systems.
- Troubleshooting skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Communication: Liaising with external providers and providing support to end-users.
- Documentation: Creating and maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Security: Implementing and maintaining security measures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as an IT/System Administrator.
- Industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, CompTIA Network+).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: From $55,000.00 per year
