Based in your home office in Ontario, Nufarm is looking for a Technical Sales Specialist - Horticulture, T&O, & IVM reporting to Regional Sales Manager
- East. The main purpose of this role is to develop and execute sales strategies that increase sales and profitability for Nufarm in three key specialty sectors (Horticulture, Turf & Ornamental, and Industrial Vegetation Management). As the TSS, you are also responsible for providing technical support to growers, distributors, retailers, and superintendents in the sectors listed.
What will you be doing?
Sales Activities
Develop sales and marketing strategies that drive sales within the territory.
Provide input into priorities and targets for your sales territory in conjunction with the Regional Sales Manager to meet Nufarm financial goals.
Provide timely and accurate reporting to the Regional Sales Manager.
Work with and develop strong and effective business relationships with key Distributors, Retailers, Fruit and Vegetable Growers, and Superintendents to ensure Nufarm Marketing letters, Pricelist and Offers are understood in the industry.
Responsible for marketing letter development for distributors working in conjunction with the Eastern Key Account Manager.
Grow the IVM business with railroads, oil, and gas companies. Develop business with distributors that service these markets.
Monitor expenses, including travel and Account Action Plans.
Develop and implement end user strategies that drive sales within the territory.
**Technical Support**:
Work with internal and external stakeholders to address any technical needs in relation to the specialty product lines.
Provide in-field support to fruit and vegetable growers specific to eastern Canada.
Work closely with Nufarm and Valent Canada on all technical information for the Nufarm horticulture and specialty product line.
Assist customers with any product inquiries in relation to specialty product lines.
Attend tradeshows and other information meetings to influence sales, build effective relationships and gain industry knowledge.
Work with Canadian Marketing Manager to assist in the creation of technical pieces for handouts and e-blasts.
Train Nufarm Sales and 1-800 line staff on Nufarm horticulture and specialty products.
Assist in the Business & Market Development of Nufarm’s specialty product lines.
Work with the Eastern Key Account Manager on a strategy to build the IVM business in eastern Canada.
