We are looking for two **Specialists, Business Development (Proposals)**,** **to join our firm** in any of our offices**. This role also has the ability to **work remotely**, with local proximity to attend one of our offices if needed.

The Specialist, Business Development (Proposals), is responsible for managing the complete cycle of the bid response process, as well as for finding greater efficiencies in terms of the effort, process and reporting involved in proposal activity that will translate into higher win rates and revenue growth for the firm. The role is also responsible for maintaining the marketing and business development content on the firm’s intranet and various databases to support profile-building activities. The Business Development Specialist is a key reference resource and supplier of business development-related information for Marketing and Business Development personnel across the firm’s 10 offices, industry/specialty and practice groups.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Business Development_
- Manages the complete cycle of the bid response process, which includes researching, drafting and compiling content for new business pitches, RFPs, RFQs, RFIs and other types of formal proposals at both the national and regional levels, working in parallel with BD managers;
- Prepares and provides to senior management “go/no-go” recommendations as part of the firm’s established RFP protocol around incoming RFP invitations;
- Participates in strategic discussions with submission teams with respect to teams, content and proposed pricing;
- Coordinates the production process for proposal submissions, including work-back schedules and compliance with requirements;
- Conducts debriefing sessions to determine future improvement of responses;
- Provides management with monthly reports that address work in progress and recent RFP submission successes.
- Administration_
- Drafts and publishes content for posting to the firm’s intranet (portal);
- Tracks, maintains, updates and archives business development-related information in the firm’s various databases to support collateral development, directory listings, rankings, events and other profile-building activities. These databases include: Proposal Content Database, Proposal Tracker, Eureka and Representative Work Database.
- Marketing & Communications_
- Supports other business development and marketing projects and team initiatives as required.

**What you'll bring**:

- University or college degree (with a major in marketing, communications or business preferred), and/or equivalent years of work experience in a business development and marketing capacity;
- Preferred minimum of three years of experience in a legal/law firm environment with a successful track record in meeting business development projects and related needs;
- Demonstrated proposal writing and editing skills/experience, specifically in RFP submissions for legal services;
- Superior time management and organizational skills, with the ability to proactively problem-solve and manage competing priorities in a demanding, fast-paced environment;
- Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships, and be an effective listener and influencer;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a strong client service orientation;
- Conducts themselves with discretion and professionalism, and operates with full accountability;
- Works comfortably both on teams and independently;
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
