Position Overview:
SPOT-SDELḴ is a community-driven organization dedicated to providing low-barrier, culturally appropriate healthcare services on the Saanich Peninsula. Our mission is to foster trust, consistency, and better health through relationship-based care and flexible service delivery.

We are seeking a dedicated and patient care-driven Medical Office Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the delivery of trauma-informed and culturally safe health care.
- Greet patients and manage the front desk.
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments.
- Data entry and maintain accurate patient records using OSCAR EMR system.
- Assist in running exam rooms
- Handle billings ( MSP/ LFP model, ICBC, WCB, and private pay)
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their appointments, treatment plans, and office policies.
- Manage and maintain a clean and organized office environment.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as an MOA in a medical office or a MOA certification.
- Proficiency in using phone systems and EMR software ( experience with Oscar EMR is an asset).
- Ability to work independently.
- Possess a helpful demeanor, with the ability to remain calm and collected under pressure.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient interaction.
- Willingness to work collaboratively with allied health team members and community partners.
- Experience working with marginalized populations, particularly First Nations communities, is strongly preferred.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Medical office: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- MOA certificate (preferred)
