Lethbridge, Canada The Southern Alberta Self-help Association Full time

**SASHA Supportive Living** has an opening for an **Office Assistant**. This position is responsible for maintaining records and organizational and administrative activities that keep the SASHA accountable and responsible to both members and funding sources. This is a temporary full-time summer employment position starting in **May 2025**.

The position is funded through a grant from _Canada Summer Jobs_ and is available to a Canadian Citizen, resident or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the _Immigration and Refugee Protection Act_. The prospective employee must be between 18 and 30 years of age and be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulation.

**WAGE**: 16.50/hour **Hours**: 35 hours/week for 8 weeks.

**Duties**:
Reception Duties:

- Greet people coming into the mental health group home office (House A)
- Answer phones and direct calls
- Provide information to the public

Support to Management:

- Support with information management, website and social media
- Prepare/update brochures and other promotional display material
- Document and maintain household, office, donations and library inventory
- Maintain and update employee records
- Maintain client files and binders
- Maintain volunteer files
- Ensure closed files are complete
- Comply with SASHA policies and procedures

Other Duties:

- Attend to shopping for supplies, and miscellaneous items for homes
- Attend meetings as required
- Report client related concerns to client support staff and document if necessary
- Other tasks as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Some education in a related field
- Comfortable with working in and a mental health group home
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Software skills and experience with general office work
- Ability to take direction and attention to detail required
- Be a team player with the ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Some experience with the mental health community is an asset
- A valid class 5 Driver’s license and clean 3-year drivers abstract
- Current criminal record and vulnerable sector check prior to start date
- Ability to positively represent the organization

**The Southern Alberta Self-Help Association (SASHA)** supports adults with severe and/or persistent mental illness to achieve success through a continuum of supportive living options and individualized services. We operate 4 group homes in Lethbridge and support clients living in the community. SASHA supports clients to become contributing members of our community. We help prepare them, often recently discharged from the hospital, to re-integrate into the community.
