**Here’s the Scoop - Summary**

The Logistics Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to is to develop detailed schedules to accommodate all inbound shipments to three main Champion Petfoods worksites: Acheson, Morinville and Edmonton - Yellowhead Distribution Centre. The Logistics Coordinator will work collaboratively with the management and staff within the Kitchen(s) (Plant) to develop and sustain successful professional vendor relationships.

This position is based out of our brand-new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility office in Acheson, Alberta, and will report to the Supply Chain and Logistics Lead.

**What an ordinary day looks like**:

- Ensure compliance to Company’s policies, practices and procedures related to Health and Safety, Food Safety, and the Environment Greet
- Reply to general information requests with accurate information
- Schedule inbound appointments for Material deliveries for all Morinville, Edmonton, and Acheson facilities
- Receive and record Purchase Order information on appointment schedules for deliveries
- Receive telephone calls from transportation companies to match to Purchase Orders and book delivery appointments making efficient use of available docks
- Ensure the accuracy of weigh-in/out for trucks, reconcile any discrepancies and provide timely advice to Supervisor regarding discrepancies
- Coordinate internal ingredient transfers from Champion and third-party sites/warehouses, including the transportation of such
- Act as liaison with truck drivers when delays in receiving occur
- Report to Supervisor and the Supply Chain Coordinators any change in material receiving that may affect production
- Receive and maintain accurate electronic files pertaining to P.O.s (Purchase Orders)
- Validate all Certificates of Analysis against specification and report any variances to R&I and Supply Chain
- Maintain accurate records of carrier on-time performance, delays, and delay reasons
- Maintain professionalism and sense of discretion with employees, drivers, and visitors
- Perform additional assignments as directed by the Supply Chain and Logistics Lead
- Record and enter carrier data and trailer seal information
- Receive Materials in M3 as directed by Supply Chain
- Create NCR’s in Salesforce
- Perform additional assignments as directed by the Supply Chain and Logistics Lead

**What are we looking for?**
- Minimum two years’ experience in a logistics coordinator, dispatch, or related position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in the use of computer programs for Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Experience in ERP systems (i.e. SAP, M3) an asset

**Working Conditions**
- The majority of work is performed in a typical pet food production facility office, with working conditions that include dust, noise and/or fluctuating temperatures
- Overtime as required
- Must be able to physically inspect company equipment, property, and assets
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
