**Billing Clerk (Primary) Job Description**

Reporting to the Manager of Billings and Accounts, the Billing Clerk (MB Health Billing) plays an integral role within the Manitoba Clinic. In this role primary responsibilities include but are not limited to financial and administrative tasks relating to the management of medical records and financial departmental operations.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Oversee new tariffs/fee increases from MB Health, from implementation to database to ensure staff are willing to be informed of such. Application and departmental communication of changes in tariffs & fees. - Update and maintain family medicine physician’s database in respect to Chronic Disease Management billings.
- Downloading payment file from Non-insured vendors on a bi-monthly basis and creating files for reconciliations
- Coverage for absent team members as needed.
- Analysis of daily claims submissions for billings requiring Procedure/Operative Reporting to MB Health. Analysis of daily claims submissions from MB Health, from implementation to database to ensure staff are informed. Enrollment & Maintenance of Shared Health Records
- Creation of daily submission documents previous day billings and uploading this file to MB Health/Shared Health
- Send OR Reports to MB Health
- When required, downloading payment file from MB Health/Shared Health on a bi-monthly basis and performing reconciliations,
- Correction/investigation of partial payment and rejections of claims from bimonthly payment files
- Fielding faxes and sending information to hospitals and clinics on an emergency basis
- Draft and distribute semi-monthly reports of invoicing and billing metrics.
- Check paper charts that are directed to the Finance Manager for duplicate merge or other problematic formatting.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Coverage for Billing Clerk Responsibilities**
- Data entry as assigned.
- Updating all pediatric newborns for proper insurance numbers with non-insured clients (shared responsibility)
- Remediation of enrollments and de-enrollments from non-insured vendor databases to LibreMD
- Enter deceased in charts on spreadsheet.
