Carlsberg Canada recently purchased Waterloo Brewing Ltd. so Carlsberg Canada includes the production, distribution and commercialization of Carlsberg and Waterloo products as well as various co-manufacturing partnerships.

**Role Summary**

The Controller is responsible for planning, organizing, and administrating accounting activities associated with maintaining the General Ledger including management of the subledgers. This role will work closely with our Operations and Commercial teams to empower partnership with Finance to ensure compliance, efficiency, and accuracy.

This role is based out of our Kitchener
- Waterloo Brewery with occasional travel to Carlsberg Oakville Office

Hybrid: 3 days in the office/ 2 days from home.

**Accountabilities**:

- Lead and execute month-end close process, including timely identification, evaluation, and root cause determination of variances and overall operating results.
- Prepare and provide comparative and accurate periodic financial reports with a goal of standardization and self-service reporting.
- Provide ongoing accounting advice and support to the operations and commercial teams.
- Work with Finance Business Partners to ensure timely deliverables within corporate cycles while ensuring internal control compliance.
- Manage monthly and quarterly account reconciliations, tax and other government filings, and audit requirements.
- Identify and implement innovative continuous improvement initiatives for processes, workflows, and systems.
- Manage and direct team of AR, AP, and GL associates ensuring proper allocation of resources.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education preferably in Accounting, Business, or related field
- Professional accounting designation
- 5-8 years of relevant experience including at least three years of leadership experience
- Expert knowledge in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)
- Results driven, self-starter with an innovative mindset.
- Demonstrated planning, leadership, and time management skills.
- Exceptional analytical and attention to detail skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to interact with all members of the extended finance team to work towards the core principles of the department.
- CPG Experience preferably within Food and Beverage industry
- Experience in manufacturing environment
- Hands on experience with accounting databases and systems (MS Dynamics Business Central & Jet Reports experience would be an asset)
