We are seeking an experienced Controller to work out of our Kitchener, Ontario location.

The Controller will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and work closely with our Accounting Manager and other functional business leaders. This role will be jointly responsible for the preparation of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk. The Controller will also take part in enhancing the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with accounting standards for private enterprises (ASPE).

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Help oversee the operations of the accounting department.
- Prepare, post, and approve a variety of journal entries each month.
- Maintain and adhere to the month end checklist process.
- Issue timely, accurate and complete financial statements.
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations.
- Assist with the production of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Provide financial analyses as needed, for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations. Participate in quotation process.
- Assist with analysis of variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- All other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- CPA, CA designation required.
- Minimum 5 years experience with a large, public accounting firm.
- 2+ years of post-designation experience with demonstrated progressive responsibility required.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong reporting and analytical skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Business Central and/or Cetaris considered as asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to succeed.
- Positive attitude with professional and courteous demeanor.
- Ability to work with a team and independently.
- Embraces a growth and learning mindset.
