Business Development Executive

**About the Role**
Rubicon is on the lookout for a highly motivated and charismatic Business Development Executive to spearhead growth in Canada’s HORECA and Food Service channel. You will be the face of Rubicon in the vibrant world of bars, clubs, independent restaurants, lounges, and premium foodservice venues — forging influential relationships, driving volume, and curating visibility for our exotic beverage portfolio.
Your mission: make Rubicon the go-to exotic beverage brand across Canada’s trendiest, boldest, and most flavour-forward venues.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. On-Trade Channel Growth & Activation
- Develop and execute a tactical go-to-market strategy to grow Rubicon’s footprint in the HORECA and foodservice sector.
- Identify and convert high-potential on-trade accounts including premium restaurants, bars, cafés, and lounges.
- Actively seek out and close new business with F&B managers, chefs, bar managers, and independent venue owners.
- Position Rubicon products as versatile menu heroes — across mocktails, cocktails, brunch menus, and dessert pairings.
2. Brand Visibility & Relationship Building
- Be a Rubicon brand evangelist — ensuring product visibility and menu placement in partner outlets.
- Host tastings, create seasonal drink menus, and educate staff on product attributes and mixology usage.
- Build deep and sustainable relationships with key decision-makers and frontline influencers (bartenders, baristas, chefs).
- Represent Rubicon at trade shows, tastings, launch events, and industry gatherings.
3. Commercial Strategy & Execution
- Drive account profitability through smart promotional planning, upselling, and basket expansion.
- Negotiate commercial terms, track volume performance, and manage trade marketing budgets.
- Develop quarterly plans and account segmentation models for priority markets and regions.
- Collaborate closely with our distributor sales force to ensure seamless order fulfillment and activation.
4. Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Monitor competitive activity, pricing trends, and emerging consumption occasions.
- Submit accurate sales forecasts, field reports, and monthly business reviews.
- Share learnings and success stories with colleagues and Management.
**What You Bring to the Table**
- A degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality or a related field.
- 1-3 years of relevant on-trade, beverage or hospitality sales experience (alcoholic or non-alcoholic brands preferred).
- A love for the F&B space — you thrive in high-energy venues and stay plugged into food and drink trends.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a natural flair for persuasion and storytelling.
- Comfortable working independently in the field with a hunter mentality.
- Knowledge of beverage category dynamics within Canada’s on-premise channel.
- Confident with Microsoft Office tools.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned territory.

Compensation
- 50,000 CAD annual base pay plus 10-20% commission
