Marathon provides high-level service to its clients through its in-house engineering department. This department delivers value engineering and innovative solutions, including the implementation of design-build projects.

**Position Overview**

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Estimation**: Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for underground construction projects, including horizontal directional drilling, shoring, and related operations.
- **Project Coordination**: Oversee project planning, scheduling, and execution, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to client specifications.
- **Client Liaison**: Collaborate with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals.
- **Cost Control**: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and provide regular updates to management on financial performance.
- **Technical Analysis**: Review project plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports to assess feasibility and identify potential challenges.
- **Procurement**: Source materials, equipment, and subcontractors, negotiating contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- **Compliance**: Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental requirements.

**Qualifications**
- **Experience**: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating and project coordination within the construction industry, with specific expertise in trenchless and shoring operations.
- **Education**: Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Hard Dollar, Bid2Win, or similar), MS Office, and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- **Knowledge**: Strong understanding of underground construction techniques, shoring systems, and geotechnical principles.
- **Soft Skills**: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- **Certifications**: Valid driver’s license. Additional certifications (e.g., PMP, Gold Seal) are an asset.
- **Location**: Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Greater Toronto Area.
