** - ADMINISTRATOR, ACCOUNTING**

Based out of the Red Deer office location the Administrator, Accounting is responsible for inputting AP and processing payments, creating customer invoices, processing customer payments, updating and maintaining spreadsheets, processing payroll, managing accounting and payroll inquiries, other general accounting duties and providing ongoing support to the controller. This is a 12 - 15-month position to cover a maternity leave.

**CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Enter accounts payable invoices, file invoices and process a weekly cheque run.
- Reconcile vendor statements and respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment.
- Generate customer invoices and compile necessary invoicing documentation (e.g., statutory declaration, WCB clearance, customer progress certificates).
- Input timesheet hours and equipment into excel for upload into AX.
- Create and submit a daily priced time ticket to customers, ensuring compliance with contract rates and terms.
- Work closely with project managers and respond to customer requests for project information.
- Process customer payments and follow up on overdue customer accounts.
- Prepare weekly job cost reports for project managers.
- Create general journal entries for payroll and bank transactions.
- Prepare a monthly bank reconciliation.
- Assist with year-end accounting reconciliations and audit requirements.
- Process payroll for hourly employees, enter miscellaneous payroll deductions/adjustments into SDG as required.
- Collect new employee documentation, maintain employee files and setup employees in SDG.
- Calculate and submit records of employment using ROEweb.
- Respond to Canada Revenue Agency and Service Canada requests for payroll information.
- Prepare and distribute payroll related communications to employees.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports to accounting and management.
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of payroll related documents (e.g., payroll register, hours reporting) to ensure compliance and audit requirements are satisfied.
- Setup payroll rates, burdens, and deductions to ensure accurate execution of payroll agreements.
- Prepare monthly payroll reports of costs, hours, and burdens.
- Verify payroll related information (e.g., time sheets, direct deposits, wage attachments, benefits, etc.) to ensure accurate distribution of funds and payroll.
- Assist with year-end payroll reconciliations and creation of T4s, T2200s and T5018s.
- Other general accounting duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education**
- Related diploma or bachelor’s degree (ie business administration, accounting, commerce) preferred.
- Experience running payroll and or CPA Payroll Practitioner Certificate is considered an asset.

**Experience**
- Minimum two years of accounting and payroll experience

**Knowledge & Skills**
