**Overview**

**Key Responsibilities (Accounting)**
- Manage Accounts Payable activities and assist with Accounts Receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and collections
- Ensure compliance with cannabis industry regulations, including CRA and Health Canada requirements
- Support financial audits by preparing documentation and assisting with corporate and sales tax filings, ensuring compliance with industry specific tax laws
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including bank reconciliations, intercompany accounts, and general ledger entries
- Assist the Assistant Controller, supporting other financial tasks as needed

**Key Responsibilities (HR Administration)**
- Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and provincial regulations
- Administer employee benefits programs, processing enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Coordinate the recruitment process, including job postings, screening, reference checks, and employment offers
- Maintain employee records, including payroll changes, letters, contracts, notifications, and personnel files
- Facilitate new employee onboarding and coordinate orientation
- Ensure HR policies and practices align with company standards and provincial/federal employment laws
- Process workers’ compensation claims and assist in managing employee leaves, including return-to-work documentation

- Assists VP with annual policy updates and obtaining employee sign-offs on revisions

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum **2 years** of experience in accounting, payroll, and HR administration.
- Experience in **manufacturing** or a highly regulated environment is an asset.
- Strong understanding of **Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and financial reconciliations**.
- Experience with **payroll processing**, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial employment standards.
- Familiarity with **corporate and sales tax filings**, month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Proficiency in **financial software** (e.g., QuickBooks or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Dayforce and Ceridian Power pay is an asset
- Working knowledge of **Alberta Employment Legislation**:

- Experience with **recruitment, onboarding, and employee record-keeping**

Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
