SLC Management offers a mix of in-office and virtual work where our employees are empowered to do their best. Generally, employees are expected to work three or more days in-office each week with flexibility depending on their business, client and team needs.
Associate, Portfolio Business Solutions - SLC Management
**What is in it for you**:
Over the past several years, the Private Fixed Income (“PFI”) portfolio has grown in assets under management across a diversified and growing range of clients. The Business Solutions team has been created to initially support developing and managing the PFI data strategy, portfolio reporting and transaction support needs with a goal of supporting other asset classes in the future.
The Associate, Portfolio Services, will support the Associate Director and Senior Director in developing analytical tools to be used in portfolio reporting and monitoring. Additionally, they will analyze data from different sources and systems in order to draw insights and aid in the investment decision process.
**What will you do**:
- Help to develop, enhance and manage data collection systems and models to analyze financial & operations data, identify trends and communicate performance across the PFI business
- Aid in the creation of presentations for PFI management and external stakeholders
- Assist in the generation and distribution of PFI reporting to third party clients
- Support projects that require analyzing large, complex and unstructured datasets. The purpose is to help address questions presented by senior management and to provide insights on business operations.
- Aid in the management of governance processes including development, organization, oversight, and administration
- Assist with relationship management with regulatory entities and internal/external auditors
**What you need to succeed**:
- 2+ years of experience at an asset manager, financial institution or consulting firm
- University or other Post-Secondary education in a relevant field (e.g. Accounting, Finance or Mathematics)
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented aptitude
- Ability to manage tight deadlines
- Strong Microsoft Excel experience
**Preferred Skills**:
- Progress towards MBA, CFA or CPA designations considered an asset
- Broad understanding of the Private Fixed Income or Asset Management industry considered an asset
- Experience with VBA, SQL considered an asset
