The** DeGroote School of Business** is the business faculty of McMaster University, located in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. **JOB SUMMARY**:
The Faculty HR Coordinator acts as a key resource in supporting human resources planning, employee relations, and service delivery across the faculty. This includes full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, HR policy guidance, compensation and benefits advice, and compliance with employment legislation and collective agreements. The Coordinator ensures internal faculty HR operations align with overall faculty priorities and University-wide strategies, working collaboratively to foster a healthy and equitable work environment.

HR Administration & Operations
- Ensures timely and accurate processing of HR transactions (hiring, extensions, terminations, salary changes, leaves).
- Maintains HR records, files, and systems to support compliance, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Advises staff of annual vacation entitlement, maintains attendance records and monitors attendance management initiatives in accordance with needs
- Ensures effective records management, including electronic employee files and confidential information
- Provides oversight on department’s staff time entry and approval procedures; ensures training is provided and discrepancies are resolved weekly
- Assists employees with completion of employment and human resources forms (tax forms, LOA request, employment verification, tuition reimbursement forms, etc.)
- Collects, reviews and processes premium payments (overload teaching stipends, faculty supervision payment, award/anomaly payments. etc.)
- Coordinates staff and sessional faculty recruitment - creates position codes and job openings in Mosaic

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Supports full-cycle recruitment for various staff types (unionized, non-unionized, sessional, temporary), including job description development, job postings, interview coordination, and reference checking
- Advises hiring managers on classification, compensation, and EDI practices in recruitment and selection
- Prepares and manages offer letters, employment documentation, and eForms in collaboration with the HR Operations team
- Designs and delivers faculty onboarding and orientation programs tailored to local and institutional needs
