Boyle Street will be partnering with various Community Partner Groups to animate the facilities that they operate and utilize their spaces to benefit our city’s vulnerable population while building relationships that support reconciliation, healing, and forgiveness. These spaces will provide a safe and comfortable space for everyone to visit and be able to access a variety of services including meals, recreation, basic needs, and harm reduction support, as well as a place for coffee and companionship. Through positive relationship building and strong community engagement, these spaces are a starting point that will help foster positive outcomes.
Reporting to the Community Connections Manager the Community Connections Team Lead will work directly in the community and provide support and supervision to the Community Connections Support Workers. They will support in creating temporary relief for community members (CM) who are experiencing homelessness and/or isolation by providing short-term, daytime respite from the outdoors/weather. As well as basic needs support connecting to resources such as; housing, income, ID, medical supports, etc.

**Position Responsibilities**
**Team Leadership**
- Lead a large frontline team with a compassionate mindset, consistently have one on one check ins with each team member to support them in growth and success in their role.
- Coordinate for the team daily, delegating tasks and ensuring accurate completion.
- Act as a resource for the Program Manager, the staff and community by being a go-to for program needs.
- Identifying gaps in the program and learning all applicable resources.
- Promptly escalate any human resources related inquiries to the Manager.
- Foster partnerships and maintain communication with community groups, citizens, businesses, stakeholders, funders, and other relevant entities involved with the served population.
- Possess knowledge and connections with various community supports/services such as food assistance, shelter, housing programs, employment resources, mental health services, legal aid, etc.
- Identify gaps in services for individuals experiencing homelessness and work towards addressing those needs.
- Other duties as required by Program Manager.
**Frontline Work**
- Work flexibly in both, community and back-end supports for the program. Be able to support and guide community members while also taking on leadership responsibilities.
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed; follow-up with clients until situations have stabilized.
- Keen understanding of the needs and challenges facing marginalized populations, particularly those battling complex mental health and addiction.
- Ability to solve problems for staff and community in a quick and ethical manner.
**Administration**
- Support the Program manager in scheduling, finding coverage for shifts.
- Complete various administrative duties throughout the program, run and deliver accurate reports, maintain a database and support with time and attendance as needed.
- Facilitate initial onboarding activities for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the team.
- Ensure adequate communication with the Program Manager regarding team activities and challenges.
- BSCS is more than a workplace. It is a community where everyone helps and contributes to the whole, and there is an expectation that all employees will take part in events (during the work week and occasionally during weekends and evenings). This includes fundraising campaigns, running community meals, medicine picking etc.

**Qualifications**
- Experience working with Indigenous people and individuals from diverse cultures.
- It is considered an asset to have a class 5 drivers license, ability to provide a clean drivers abstract, and access to a reliable personal vehicle with minimum $2,000,000 liability insurance to use for work purposes.
- Degree or diploma in relevant field.
- Minimum 1 year experience leading a team.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience delivering community-based services.
- Experience in the health care industry would be an asset.
- Current regulated member of the Alberta College of Social Workers (RSW) or Licensed Health Professional preferred.
