POSITION TITLE: Project Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
POSITION TYPE: Part Time (15hrs/week), 16-month contract
COMPENSATION: $22/hour
**BACKGROUND**
Guelph Soccer operates as a non-profit soccer club in the City of Guelph and wishes to offer its members the highest possible administration support to meet the expectations of the athletes, coaches and parents of Guelph Soccer’s programs.
**JOB OVERVIEW**
The Project Coordinator is a vital role within the organization with the principal responsibility of leading our She’s Got Game - She Can Coach initiative. The Project
Coordinator is responsible for coordination and implementation of the project. This role is a key member of our team and will be integral to executing the objective of increasing the participation of female coaches and players at the club.
**PROJECT SUMMARY**
Guelph Soccer is committed to keeping girls and women in sport. With the participation of the Government of Canada, Guelph Soccer has been given the opportunity to invest in programs to achieve gender equity in soccer.
This investment, provided through Sport Canada’s Innovation Initiative, has supported
Guelph Soccer’s She’s Got Game - She Can Coach project, a project aimed at increasing women coaches and female role models in the sport. Funding has been directed towards program development and delivery, direct operational costs, and research expenses such as coach certifications, facility rentals, equipment, and consultations.
Guelph Soccer is committed to decreasing the gender participation gap in soccer by providing services and activities that help reduce barriers for women to become soccer coaches. Girls and women (aged 16-40) are encouraged to take part in the program.
The project objective is to increase the presence of females in coaching positions, to ensure that young girls in the sport have role models they identify with and can look up to. Increasing the number female coaches and leaders in our organization will help increase female registration and ultimately eliminate the gender gap in participation.
**OVERALL ACCOUNTABILITY**
- Responsible for the development and operational implementation of assigned projects and initiatives.
- Responsible for developing project actions, monitoring deliverables, and maintaining project timelines.
- Assists in data collection, analysis and drafting of research reports as needed.
- Responsible for acting as a liaison between the club and independent researcher.
- Tracks project progress according to project plan, monitors, and reports on the status of projects and major issues/obstacles encountered.
- Maintains an understanding of the project schedule(s), deliverables, and commitments as set out in project charters and other work plans.
- Executes project plan according to project methodologies, ensuring the successful and coordinated completion of project components.
- Prepares reporting materials, including written reports, documents, and presentations.
- Gathers and summarizes financial information related to assigned projects for submission to the Government of Canada, as needed.
- Plans and manages logistics for meetings, ranging from small team meetings to large stakeholder meetings, including preparation and delivery of materials and presentations.
- Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants involved.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports.
- Responsible for making recommendations and assisting in the implementation of program goals and objectives.
- Deliver program information to support with the creation of program promotional materials, annual report, social media posts, etc.
- Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with program participants.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
- Excellent organization, planning and project management skills
- Strong time management skills including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Excellent oral & written communication skills
- Interpersonal and leadership skills, able to motivate and mentor others
- Ability to remain flexible in a changing environment
- Intrinsically motivated, passionate, and self-directed
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Access to a vehicle.
**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 16 months
**Salary**: From $22.00 per hour
