Under general supervision, the VFH Enforcement Clerk B is responsible for a range of administrative tasks to support the compliance and enforcement of the Vehicle for Hire by-law. Position maintains records on license revocation, suspension, penalties and appeals and is required to compile related data for supervisor’s analysis and reporting.

This position is the first point of contact for public inquiries and complaints related to vehicle for hire questions, including by-law enforcement, licensing and regulation and may be required to communicate relevant sections of the by-law and associated policies, in responding to questions.

**As the** **_VFH Enforcement Clerk B_** **you will**:

- Receive and coordinate responses to public inquiries and complaints/concerns on “vehicle for hire” services and enforcement practices.
- Respond to escalated in-person and telephone inquiries and complaints, and determine necessary action to resolve complex issues.
- Coordinate notifications on licenses, including suspension, revocation, penalties and appeals, and organize the appeal hearing process.
- Provide information on the appeal hearing process for dispatcher, driver, or vehicle owner’s consideration and assist in developing and maintaining appeal hearing schedule. Attend appeal hearing to document results and take notes.
- Compile data for supervisor’s analysis, reporting, and decision-making purposes.
- Create, maintain and update databases and reports to monitor / track data on license suspensions, penalties, revocation, appeals, and other areas related to by-law enforcement.
- Provide other clerical support, including taking minutes of meetings, and coordinating training of drivers and vehicle owners.
- Update the T2 data base with current information on individuals and vehicles.
- Enter citations and vehicle inspections into the T2 database.
- Create and maintain an Event Calendar.
- Generate reports, compare and import data using the T2 database.
- Conduct research of practices in other jurisdictions to support the division’s continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with the processing of VFH licences when required.
- Support the division’s public engagement and customer service responsibilities, including interpretation of relevant sections of the Vehicle for Hire by-law.

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- High school graduate.
- Minimum one year experience working in a customer service and administrative support capacity.
- Experience with, and proficiency using, Microsoft Office software including, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience navigating and utilizing databases.
- Experience with interpreting bylaws.
- Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to facilitate working relationships, interact effectively with staff, managers, and the public with tact and diplomacy, including in highly stressful and/or confrontational situations.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Superior organizational and time management skills including the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement when making decisions.
- Ability to work with confidential information and conduct business in a confidential manner.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
