Reporting to the Manager of Vehicles for Hire, the Coordinator of Operational Support is responsible for providing operational support to the vehicles for hire division, and the coordination and direction of divisional support services and initiatives to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of VFH operations through:

- Winnipeg Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WWAV) on-demand centralized dispatch system
- General oversight, review, and analysis of the day-to-day operations of the WWAV
- Liaise with Winnipeg WAV dispatch contractor
- Review of trip information and data, including analysis
- Coordination of internal and external issues and concerns, including feedback and complaints
- Providing WWAV data analytics for reporting
- Contract management
- Vehicle for Hire driver training and coordinating with external partners, including:

- New driver training
- Accessible training
- Building Cultural Competency training
- Provide direction, leadership, expertise, and guidance to the VFH division
- Provides support to vehicle for hire enforcement, licensing and reporting
- The position is responsible for supporting the implementation of quality improvement measures within vehicle for hire
- Other operational or special initiatives as they may occur and impact VFH operations

The Coordinator of Operational Support & Initiatives has a comprehensive understanding of and is able to interpret the Vehicles for Hire by-law, the Local Vehicles for Hire Act, as well as other applicable Provincial and Federal legislation.

**As the Coordinator of Operational Support & Initiatives - VFH, you will**:

- Oversee and coordinate the Winnipeg Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) centralized dispatch for on-demand accessible service program.
- Be responsible for the coordination and delivery of special initiatives and priorities of the VFH division.
- Provide consultation, expertise and guidance to the VFH division on initiatives, operations and program impacts.
- Participate in WPA projects as assigned or act as the VFH representative at leadership discussions.

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- Bachelor of Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, degree or related discipline or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education, and significant training and experience.
- Accounting, Finance, Statistics, and Project Management courses would be preferred.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience managing, delivering, and evaluating programs and initiatives.
- Experience in financial and data analysis, and implementing controls.
- Experience in contract management and administration, including purchasing procedures.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement principles.
- Effective verbal communication, with the ability to facilitate presentations to various audiences, team-building, and collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to write formal administrative reports, briefing notes and other formal and informal documents considering the audience, and in a way to communicate complex issues for management, elected officials and internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to conduct research, analyze complex issues, and prepare timely and thorough reports and recommendations.
- Knowledge of by-laws and by-law enforcement, specifically the Vehicles for Hire by-law, Local Vehicle for Hire Act, and other relevant by-laws and legislation related to the position.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with management, both internal and external stakeholders, community members, other levels of government, elected officials, and staff in a unionized environment.
- Effective time management and organizational skills related to programs, initiatives and project planning, development, and implementation.
- Knowledge of audit and review procedures and ability to identify shortfalls and areas of non-compliance with customers & industry participants or within initiatives and communicate to the appropriate Coordinator and/or the Manager.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of Collective Agreements and Human Resource Legislation.
