**AutoCAD Technician**

Under the direction of the Project Management team at CaTECH, the CAD Technician will be responsible for all facets of designing for our existing and perspective Clients. A preferred history in network infrastructure and complex cabling is ideal.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Completion of basic design drawings, quantity calculations and as-built drawings for various types of utility projects using various software packages (e.g. AutoCAD, Microstation).
- Collaborating with Designers to ensure accuracy of drawings.
- Working with permit drawings and city websites to understand the full scope of the drawing.
- Liaises with designers and field staff to problem solve.
- Create CAD drawings from concept to final design
- Assist in field surveys
- Liaise with contractors, field staff
- Ability to travel for projects

**Required Knowledge and Experience**
- Minimum of one year of AutoCAD drafting experience and Microstation.
- Post-secondary education in related field is preferred
- Familiarity with 3D piping design software is a strong asset.
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD software and experience customizing AutoCAD, scripts, tools and Menu’s.
- Basic understanding of municipality standards is considered an asset.
- Experience with utility projects considered an asset.
- Proficient with the use of computers and software, including MS Office (Word, Excel).
- Good understanding of how to read civil engineering drawings and site plans.
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Self-motivated, ability to learn new skills, assume new responsibilities and work cooperatively in a team environment.

**Salary**: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

- MARKHAM, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- AutoCAD: 1 year (preferred)
- drafting: 1 year (preferred)
