Human Resources Coordinator

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Human Resources, this position is responsible for supporting the effective delivery and quality support of HR services at the Great Blue Heron Casino, including assisting with recruitment, onboarding & orientation, coordinating employee requests and changes, maintaining information in HRIS, processing documentation, assisting with employee engagement initiatives while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Prepares welcome, promotion, and departure announcements for casino employees
- Assists with employee onboarding: preparing employee files, new employee data entry into HRIS and updating new employee contact information
- Prepares various documentation for employees (e.g. confirmation of employment letters and change of reporting relationship letters)
- Prepares and edits organizational charts when required
- Supports payroll by ensuring all changes, transfers and terminations are submitted in a timely manner
- Responds to general employee queries and provides direction where appropriate
- Manages the online training for all employees and provides updates to key stakeholders as to quarterly and annual status of training completion
- Processes HR paperwork, updates HRIS database and maintains personnel files
- Assist the Manager, Human Resources and HR Advisors with the preparation of Leave of Absence (LOA) documentation for employees; manages LOA absence files (MLOA, LTD, bereavement, maternity etc.), including the return to work program and process
- Supports the preparation and maintenance of all voluntary termination paperwork in accordance with policy and applicable legislation
- Audits various employee reports on a monthly basis to ensure compliance with policy & procedures
- Responds to requests for information regarding internal and external HR inquires
- Liaises and communicates professionally and effectively with all staff
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed
**Education and Qualification Requirements**
- Post-secondary education in HR or a suitable combination of education and experience
- Minimum 2 years of HR experience
- CHRP or other HR Designation an asset
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
- Proven track-record of responsiveness and meeting deadlines
- Ability to work independently and part of a team
- Maintains and exercises a high degree of discretion and confidentiality in giving out information
- Computer literacy in MS Office and HRIS experience an asset
- The ability to successfully obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
**Salary**: $47,000.00-$71,000.00 per year
