Barrie, Canada Moore Packaging Full time

**Position**:
The Human Resources and Payroll Administrator will take primary responsibility for the processing of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for all employees of Moore Packaging, as well as administration of all benefit programs and other Human Resources functions. The incumbent will interact with various department managers and supervisors to ensure that accurate employee and timekeeping records are maintained that comply with all applicable legislation.

**Education**:

- High school diploma and relative post secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration or Accounting
- Payroll practitioner certification with National Payroll Institute preferred
- Knowledge of all legislation applicable to payroll and benefits administration in Ontario
- Working knowledge of Employment Standards, Ontario Human Rights Code, Ontario Health and Safety Act.

**Experience**:

- 1-2 years' experience in Human Resources functions, preferably in a unionized, manufacturing environment
- 1-2 years’ experience in payroll and benefits administration, Ceridian Dayforce preferred
- 1-2 years' experience with recruitment, onboarding and orientation

- Possesses personal integrity, accountability and professionalism
- Maintains confidentiality and privacy related to human resources and payroll functions
- Excellent attendance record
- Possesses a positive attitude and works well as a member of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Proficient computer skills required in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to details, compliant with deadlines
- Ability to work independently or with supervision

**Work Environment/Health & Safety**:

- Use and promote personal protective equipment or clothing required to perform the job tasks safely
- Reports unsafe or hazardous situations or work practices in a timely manner
- Takes the initiative to improve the workplace

**General Duties**:
**HR**
- Monitor and administer all time away from work in accordance with the attendance policy
- Assist with internal job posting processes and keep updated positions matrix
- Support full cycle recruitment processes
- Coordinate and participate in onboarding, orientation and training initiatives
- Support data and statistical analysis and reporting
- Other administrative duties as assigned.

**Payroll and Benefits**
- Ensure hours are properly calculated in accordance with Company policy and the Collective Agreement
- Liaise with supervisors and managers on timesheets to ensure hours are accurate for payroll processing
- Process both weekly and bi-weekly payrolls divisions for salaried, union hourly and non-union employees
- Verify completed payrolls and review reports for accuracy
- Maintain employee records in Dayforce as needed
- Prepare Record of Employment as required per applicable legislation
- Process special payments that may include garnishments, LTD premium reconciliations
- Update and maintain employee certificates in all benefit programs
- Assist with month end preparation
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits
- Provide payroll reports and/or analysis as required
