**Position Title**: Regulatory & Compliance Coordinator

**Location**: 300 - 2920 Virtual Way, Vancouver, BC.

**Application Deadline**: August 16th, 2024.

**Compensation**: $80,000/year with benefits after four (4) months.

**Position type**:One (1) year contract, full-time.

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Reviewing relevant regulatory documents and/or announcements regularly to advise the College President and Senior Administrators of upcoming changes and new developments.
- Interpreting complex regulations for the purpose of providing guidance in potential impact to the college for the College President and Senior Administration team.
- Identifying potential compliance gaps to the College President for preventative correction.
- Collaborating with Human Resources on the development of new policies and procedures necessary to maintain compliance with changing regulations.
- Preparing briefings or other written summaries for leadership (College President, Senior Administrators, Board of Governors, etc.).
- Working with multiple departments to ensure regulatory requirements are being integrated into daily practice.
- Conducting audits to ensure all regulatory and/or compliance documentation is being regularly maintained.
- Reviewing regulatory submissions when requested for compliance accuracy.
- Serving as a secondary contact for regulatory agencies, in the event of the College President’s absence.
- Contributing to, participating in, and supporting relevant college initiatives.
- Acting consistently in a manner that aligns with Coquitlam College’s mission, values, and goals.
- Other regulatory and compliance related duties as identified by the incumbent or management.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field.
- Minimum two (2) of relevant experience working within a regulatory environment (**post-secondary regulatory environment experience would be a** **significant asset).**:

- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and policies governing the post-secondary education system. This includes (but is not limited to): Degree Authorization Act, Private and Out-of-Province Public Institution Quality Assessment Criteria, Education Quality Assurance, and Degree Quality Assessment.
- Previous experience responding to requests from a variety of stakeholders regarding regulatory inquiries.
- Previous experience advising on/developing compliance policy.

**Skills and Abilities**
- Ability to research and understand regulatory standards, industry standards and best practices.
- Ability to keep abreast of emerging trends, changes to regulations, etc. and ability to adapt to these changes quickly.
- Ability to analyze complex situations and identify and resolve problems in a highly regulated environment.
- Strong decision-making and analytical skills, including problem solving and needs analysis.
- Ability to effectively gain compliance with legislation, regulation, and policy from leadership and employees.
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and organize time and workload.
- Exceptional writing skills with demonstrated ability to draft clear correspondence and reports.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work effectively as part of the administrative team, as well as independently.
