**Summary**:
We are a growing company in an interesting and challenging segment of the insurance industry. We are always looking for talented individuals to join our Personal Insurance Underwriting team; to perform a full range of policy underwriting functions related to Personal Insurance, such as Broker/Producer/Company Carrier Underwriter liaison and administrative account servicing.

**Essential Functions/Principal Responsibilities**:

- Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules and insurance laws and regulations to review, underwrite and document new and renewal policy transactions, within authority.
- Order, review and take appropriate action on required reports, endorsement requests, service requests and general correspondence.
- Analyze individual risk pricing for new business submissions and renewals against template expectations, and assists making appropriate changes within authority.
- Communicate with brokers to obtain information needed to underwrite risks, respond to questions and address issues.
- Underwrite new business, renewals and endorsements by assessing the acceptability of the risk, and factors affecting the potential for loss.
- Maintain service levels, achieve your performance targets, and have the ability to comprehensively discuss and plan with your leader for optimal performance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of work processes and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of decisions made and maintain completeness of policy data
- Determine eligibility for policy renewals based on guidelines and retention goals of the company.
- Communicate decisions and respond to requests in a prompt and professional manner
- Understand rating procedures, wordings, underwriting policies and regulations
- Handle work assignments efficiently
- Work effectively towards the goals of the team
- Build positive working relationships with internal and external parties
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Excellent attention to details and organizational skills to ensure timeliness and quality of underwriting development
- Achieve a standard of excellence with work processes and outcomes, honoring company policies and regulatory compliance
- Is receptive to feedback, adaptable to change, has a desire to learn, and embraces continuous improvement
- Work well under stress and tight deadlines
- Team oriented, building strong working relationships and a positive work environment
- Motivated to continually develop technical and soft skills.
**Probation Period**:3 Months
**Experience**:High School Diploma/GED required, with some college or 1-3 yrs related experience
