Join our dynamic, growing team at Sheaves Capital. We are committed to providing working capital and exceptional customer service to small businesses throughout Canada.

Sheaves Capital is seeking an Underwriter who will be responsible for determining our customers’ creditworthiness. The Underwriter will work closely with our partners and agents in document collection and facilitate closings.

**Responsibilities**:

- Monitor compliance and follow up with credit agreement breaches and submit status report to credit committee
- Stays current with latest industry knowledge, competition and market trends
- Communicate and coordinate with agents, clients and partners
- Assist credit committee in developing underwriting standards and compliance and control requirements
- Participate in the collections review committee and establish remedial actions plans based on delinquent accounts

**Requirements**:

- Sound judgment and ability to make decisions
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- Ability to work with tight deadlines and prioritize tasks
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Enjoys working in a team environment and independently
- Post-secondary education in business, accounting, or equivalent experience
- Fluency in French is an asset

Pay: $50,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

**Education**:

- DCS / DEC (required)

**Experience**:

- underwriting: 1 year (preferred)
- Risk analysis: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- French (preferred)
