**About this role**
What will you do?
As an Accounts Payable Specialist you will be responsible for managing and maintaining financial records, with a particular emphasis on processing invoices and other bills. This role also includes responsibility for coordination and accounting entries related to the Barentz Non-Conformance process. Other tasks and duties as assigned.
**Critical results**
- Codes vendor invoices
- Selects vendor & supplier Canadian and US dollar invoices for weekly cheque/wire/EFT payments, and processing of weekly payment runs
- Oversees vendor statement reconciliation & inquires
- Monitors for any fraud activity
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for helping to identify, and correct costing and inventory control issues in Datacor (Barentz inventory & accounting system).
- Liaises with various departments to identify, investigate, and generate solutions to inventory control and costing problems
- Communicates status of issue effectively and in a timely manner
- Assists with troubleshooting inventory variances on counts/receipts & performs costing adjustments as required
- Completes all stock transactions, warehouse transfers, and adjustments to inventory value
- Adjusts costing as necessary to correct for invoice, receiving, and costing discrepancies
- Reconciles all purchasing accruals & prepaids (including Logistics) to actual invoices presented by material overhead suppliers
- Addresses any issues with shortfalls or overages on accruals & prepaids by following up with Vendor, Purchasers, Logistics, Operations and/or Controller as required (to make any stock/expense related/invoicing adjustments
- Actions requested adjustments from divisional NA Operations team in Datacor, including stock transactions
- Coordinates any required customer credits/adjustments with AR Manager
- Distributes and communicates all required transactions to ensure completion of an NCR, which includes but is not limited to issuing a credit or debit memo, warehouse transfer, stock transaction and entries to the general ledger
- Supports and leads by example, Barentz’ culture, strategies, pillars, and fundamentals

**About You**
**Education / Experience**
- Post-secondary education, preferable in accounting and/or Inventory Management or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years industry experience in a costing/inventory control capacity

- Ability to work independently and efficiently

- Software knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, as well as Adobe Writer
